How to Download Voter ID Card (e-EPIC) Online
e-EPIC is the digital voter photo identity card. It carries your photo, EPIC number, and a QR code, and the Election Commission treats it as a valid voter ID. You can download it only after your name is already on the electoral roll. If the search does not find you, register first and come back to the download.

Download Voter ID
- 1
Copy the EPIC number
Search the roll first if the physical card is lost.
- 2
Open e-EPIC download
voters.eci.gov.in/home/e-epic-download
- 3
Enter EPIC and OTP
The OTP goes to the mobile stored on that voter entry.
- 4
Save the full PDF

Remember
- Not registered yet
- Form 6 comes first
- No OTP
- Update the mobile, then retry
- Wrong photo
- Form 8, not a new Form 6
e-EPIC is a valid voter ID
Download it only after your name is already on the electoral roll.
What you need before you start
- Your name already present on the electoral roll
- The EPIC number from the roll search or from an old card
- The mobile number linked to that voter entry, for the OTP
Download e-EPIC
- 1
Confirm the EPIC number
If you do not remember it, search the electoral roll first and copy the EPIC from the matching row. A download with a guessed number will not work.
- 2
Open the official download page
Open https://voters.eci.gov.in/home/e-epic-download. You can also reach the same download from the Voter Helpline app. Do not upload your photo to a private “voter ID download” site.
- 3
Enter the EPIC and request OTP
Type the EPIC number and the state if the form asks for it. The OTP goes to the mobile number stored against that elector entry.
- 4
Download the PDF
After the OTP, download e-EPIC. Save the PDF and keep a print if you want a paper copy in your wallet. The QR code is part of the card, so do not crop it out.
If the OTP never arrives, the mobile on the roll is probably blank or belongs to an old number. Update the mobile through the voter portal or Form 8, wait until the change is accepted, and download again.
If you do not have a voter ID yet
Download is the second step. Inclusion is the first. On voters.eci.gov.in, file Form 6. You will need a recent photograph, age proof, and address proof. Aadhaar can be given, but the form also accepts other official documents listed on the page.
After the booth level officer verifies the form, your name is added in a roll revision and an EPIC number is allotted. Only then will e-EPIC download succeed. Track the Form 6 reference number on the same portal.
Photo or details wrong on the card
Do not file a fresh Form 6 if you already have an EPIC. File Form 8 to correct the name, photo, age, address, or relative’s name. When the correction is published in the roll, download e-EPIC again. The old PDF will keep the old photo.
Frequently asked questions
Is e-EPIC a valid voter ID?
Yes. e-EPIC is the digital elector photo identity card issued through the Election Commission portal. Keep the full PDF, including the QR code.
Why is e-EPIC download asking for an OTP I never receive?
The OTP is sent to the mobile number linked to your EPIC, which may be missing or outdated. Update that mobile on the voter portal and try the download after the update is accepted.
Can I download a voter ID on the same day I apply?
No. Form 6 has to be verified and your name has to appear on the roll before an EPIC exists. Use the form reference number to track it, then download e-EPIC.
I lost the physical card. Do I have to apply again?
Not if your name is still on the roll. Search by your details, note the EPIC number, and download e-EPIC. Apply again only if the search does not find you.
